Celebrate Filipino Heritage Month with crafting the mythological bird known as the Sarimanok. Known for its vibrant colors, it's a symbol of good luck. Paper materials and instructions are provided.
Join us at the Springstowne Library to celebrate Filipino Heritage Month. From October 16 - October 31, we'll be crafting an easy paper cone Sarimanok. The Sarimanok comes from Philippine mythology, specifically the area of Mindanao. The bird is often depicted with colorful wings, a feathered tail, and a head decorated with spirals, leaves, and scrolls. It's often a symbol of good luck. Using paper materials, you'll be able to create your own good luck charms.
