Please join us in the Makery for our first multi-week sewing program! Some sewing experience required.
The Vallejo John F. Kennedy Library is hosting a start-to-finish sewing workshop making the Core Belt Bag upcycling clothes that you already have! This is a free pattern used with permission from Core Fabrics. Please bring an old pair of pants or jacket (adult-sized), and a dress shirt (or other lining fabric) to the first meeting. We will provide all other materials.
Due to a limited number of sewing machines available at the library, registration is required. If you have your own machine you would like to bring, please let us know because we may be able to increase the number of participants. If you have any questions, please call the library: (866) 572-7587
Weekly Schedule:
October 7: Introduction, pattern and fabric cutting (no sewing yet)
October 14: Preparing the zipper, and sewing
October 21: Preparing the hardware and Finishing
October 28: Finishing

Participants need to already know some sewing machine basics. They need to know how to thread a machine, sew straight and curved lines. This event is primarily for adults, but teens that know how to operate a sewing machine are welcome.
