Kids will learn about the life of painter Alma Woodsey Thomas and create their own art in her style.

Artist Alma Woodsey Thomas was the first African American woman to have a show at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Ms. Thomas became an important role model for women, African Americans, and older artists. We will look at some of her work and then create our own art using her colorful style to guide us. Best for kids ages 8 - 14.
