Beginner Friendly Sewing Workshop
Heating Pad Covers
Tuesday, November 03
5:30pm - 7:30pm
Sew a heating pad cover at the library! Heating pad not included.
The Vallejo John F. Kennedy is hosting a start-to-finish guided sewing program making a heating pad cover. To make our coasters we will be using an old flannel sheet.
We will provide one fabric option, but you are more than welcome to bring your own materials if you have any you would prefer to use. If you bring your own fabric, please make sure it is a stable woven. We recommend flannels (like an old flannel shirt, pajama bottoms, or a pillow case) for cozier experience when using the heating pads, but quilting cottons and linens would work as well.
We have 5 sewing machines available for the workshop. If you have your own machine you would like to bring, please let us so know so we can set up the room accordingly. If you have any questions, please call the library: (866) 572-7587.
Due to limited machinery and supplies, we require registration for this event.
Although this program is offered on the 3rd and the 17th, this is a standalone workshop that will be done in one session.
Supplies:
We will provide all materials, however you are welcome to bring your own fabric and thread if you prefer.
For this project you will need:
One piece of fabric that is slightly bigger than the heating pad when folded in half. Alternatively, if you have old flannel clothes that you can upcycle, you can use that instead.
