Library Field Trip

Field trip to Lake Solano Park

Come join us for a fun filled day in nature! All Ages Welcome! Kids, tweens, teens, and adults are invited to participate in a guided hike around Lake Solano and engage in fun wildlife activities

Pre-registration is required for this field trip due to limited seats on transport. Transportation is provided. Please register each individual participant in your party. Please arrive at the library by 8:30am to check in. We will board the bus by 9am. The event will run from 10:30am-3:30pm, not including transportation to and from the site. 

Please wear appropriate attire and comfortable shoes. Food will not be provided so please remember to pack your lunch, snacks, and water as needed.

Participants will need to sign a waiver provided on the day of the event.

Brief Itinerary 

8:30 am - Check in for Field Trip, Collect Bus Waivers

9am - Board Buses, depart from JFK

10 am - Arrive at Lake Solano, Go over rules, disclosures, and activities with participants. Then split into 2 groups.

10:30am - 11:30am - Meet with Putah Creek, Introductions

• Group A goes on Hike
• Group B does activity provided

11:30am - 12:30pm - Switch

• Group A does activity provided
• Group B goes on Hike

12:30pm - 1:30pm Break for Lunch

• Participants provide their own food/drink
• Play/relax in nature picnic areas

1:30pm - 2:30pm - Explore the new native plant demonstration garden in upper day-use area

2:30pm - 3:00pm - Q & A w/ Putah Creek

3:00pm - 3:30pm - Last explorations/Down time to relax

3:30pm - Board buses, depart from Lake Solano

4:45pm-5pm - Arrive back at JFK
